CAPTAIN'S DAY FINALE
The final home event of the season was completed in style, with excellent September weather, enjoyable golf and many thick heads at the prize giving in the evening.
Many thanks to Boney for putting together such a spectacular year, and of course for donating all all those brilliant prizes.
The Captain's Cup was won by a new member this year, Gary Keyes with 37 points , just edging out the fast improving Chris Charlesworth on countback. Click Captain's Day Results to check how you fared and see photos of the prizegiving.
Congratulations to Alan Harrison, our Incoming Captain, who showed us what he's made of by beating off the challenge of Tony Farrow in the Singles final.
Patty and Fergy won Doubles competition for the second year in a row, and I'm told that Fergy is about to publish his epic account of how the dynamic duo won through.
A special mention for Harry O'Brien who was the deserved winner of the President's Award this year for his long time support of our Society.
But the big prize went to Chris Bone who was the Order of Merit winner this year with 144 points. Boney was runner up with 135 points which is a pretty impressive result considering all his captaincy duties.

I would like to welcome you all to my year as Dallington Golf Society
Captain. I would also like you to welcome my Vice Captain Mr Allan Harrison. Its going to be a great season for golf with two additions to the programme making a total of 6 events. This is going to cost the earth I can hear you all thinking! No it isn’t because most of the venues are heavily subsidized thanks to the support you have given previous Captains.
I have added a new warm-up event which will take place in March and wait for it ..... it will only cost £15 for hot mulled wine , 18 holes and ham egg and chips . To add to that there will also be great golf prizes !!!!
As promised I have put all my golf contacts to good use and so the prizes for the whole season will be amazing, ending with a grand auction on Captain's Day with sponsored prizes from non other than Padraig Harrington [ no 3 in the World ].

The first warm-up event is at Western Turville . A bit of a drive but we will be well looked after [ I know the manager very well ] Hopefully by this time everyone will be itching to get on the golf course after a long winter break.
We will also have a new event in April at Kilworth Springs , The Anthony Wall Challenge Cup. Anthony is currently 23rd on the European order of merit and will provide a new trophy and prizes for this day. I will be continuing the successful sponsorship arrangements that Patty introduced last year, so please advise me or Brian if you or anyone you know wants to sponsor any of these events.
Brian will be looking after the website this year so keep an eye open for all that’s happening ! I will also be organizing a visit to a European Tour event , the British Masters and I will give you more information nearer the time.
